FORKLIFT FLEET MAINTENANCE
GETTING READY FOR SUMMER
As the weather gets warmer, we recommend taking a closer look at your fleet to prepare for the summer months. To help you get ready, here are a few key items to examine.
Batteries – After a cold winter, it is time to check battery fluids to determine what needs to be replaced and refilled.
Fans – Check for cracks so that fans can operate correctly and properly cool down the engine as the weather heats up.
Belts – Assess the belts on your forklift for cracks or brittle spots seem brittle. If any weaknesses are found, replace these items.
Coolant Levels – Check your coolant levels and refill as needed. If coolant levels are consistently below the tank’s minimum mark, check for leaks in hoses. The cold weather can cause the hoses to become brittle.
Wire and Cables – Cracked wires and cables are likely to break. Look these over and replace if necessary.
